Caprified figs
WebAug 30, 2024 · This fig is supposed to have an intense berry flavor when caprified, and it is also supposed to be common. I can confirm it is common, but it doesn't have an intense berry flavor for me. In fact, I can't taste any berry flavor at all. For me it is just a sugar fig. Has anyone else tried this outside of California? WebAug 25, 2024 · Some eighttyish years later, wasps from my Odel caprifig came in and visited a few Bebera Brancas and created these juicy/sweet/large figs Other, non caprified Bebera Branca, could not go that far... Other varieties, ex- Violette de Solliès or Black Bourjassotte behaves exactly the same when being caprified. JR

It is also possible for only some figs on the tree to be caprified. The wasp has to enter the fig for it to be caprified.
