The CSF produced by the choroid plexus, ependymal lining of the ventricles, and brain parenchyma, courses through the lateral ventricles and exits through the foramen of Monro into the third ventricle. WebIn communicating hydrocephalus, the flow of CSF through the ventricular system and into the subarachnoid space is not impaired. However, movement of CSF through the subarachnoid space and into the venous system is partially or totally blocked. This block may be caused by a congenital absence (agenesis) of the arachnoid villi.
