For those not in the know, the Ice Age Trail 50 course has three parts. One easy loop. One hilly out and back single track. One really hilly out and back single track. Total elevation gain is nearly 4000ft. WebbI was hoping to make the Ice Age 50 my first 50 miler. I ran my first ultra in October (North Face Endurance Challenge 50K) and I've been on a run streak since June 1, 2015. I race a lot. Although I've improved a lot, I'm not fast, so I knew the 12 hour cutoff for Ice Age would be an issue for me, but I've never had a problem with distance before.
