WebHello. I am a small time pest control technician. I’ve been dealing with a major phorid fly infestation at a clients house. I’ve been coming back several times over the last two months after about seven visits and at first I was able to get the infestation numbers down about 90% but now they seem to have continued to breed and are boosting back in numbers. Phorid flies are found worldwide, though the greatest variety of species is to be found in the tropics. The Phoridae show the greatest diversity of all the dipterous families. Larvae are found in the nests of social insects and in some aquatic habitats, in organic detritus such as dung, carrion, insect frass, and dead snails. Some are synanthropic.
